A fine red house wine made by an organic cooperative in the Piedmontese hills of Italy. With abundant red fruit notes, such as red cherry and raspberry, a lovely spiciness, medium tannin, and a medium body, this is an accessible red wine. Ideal for aperitifs, with some charcuterie, or a delicious red pasta dish.
A permanent fixture on our menu in the bar, just like its white counterpart, this Rosso, Bianchino .
About the winemaker
Valli Unite is located in Costa Vescovato (Piedmont). Thirty years ago, four families started a communal cooperative wine farm here, in protest against industrial agriculture. Natural working practices were and remain central.
Today, around 30 family members farm a 100-hectare area of vineyards, orchards, vegetable and grain fields, and livestock. Each family member has their own task and is completely self-sufficient.
Respect for nature and ecological balance are paramount – and you can taste that in their wines. The head winemaker is now Alessandro Poretti, who learned his trade from Stefano Bellotti, a pioneer of polyculture and natural wine.
